1 Year Celebration

On Saturday, Ocotber 10th, we celebrated the 1 year birthday of my granddaughter Kailey.  I tell ya…It is crazy that one year has already passed in her little life.  She has such a huge personality and she is just beautiful.  I wanted to share some pictures with you guys. You won’t believe how much she has grown!

Grandmama loves you Kailey!

July 20th, 1985

On July 20th, 1985, I was given a most precious gift from God.  He gave me my son, Brian.

I had been in labor for 12 hours with no pain medication and the doctor was telling me I had to push.  I didn’t want to…I was too tired.  I had been having labor pains all day on the 19th so they wouldn’t let me eat anything for fear that I may go into labor – I was weak from not eating anything.  Needless to say everything came out alright – no pun intended. :)

When we become parents, especially for the first time, we are so scared; scared that we will do something wrong, scared we’ll feed them too little or too much, scared they will get sick or hurt and we won’t know what to do.  All I had to do was look at that beautiful little face and a lot of that fear went away.  All I knew was that I loved him and he was mine.  He was perfect.

I know I haven’t been a perfect mother.  I’m sure he will agree with that.  And I surely don’t deserve him.  He has grown to be a wonderful man that I am so proud of.  He has a wonderful wife and they have given me a beautiful granddaughter.

Brian, on this day, your 24th birthday, I want you to know that I love you more than you will ever know.  I couldn’t imagine my life without you.  I am sorry for all the times I wasn’t there for you.  I hope you know that I am so very proud of the man, husband, and father that you have become.  Have a wonderful birthday.  You deserve every minute of it.  I love you!

My Mama

Today is my mama’s birthday. She is 59 years old. He he he. There is a special bond between mother and daughter that nobody else can say they have. Sometimes you just want to scream at each other and sometimes you can’t hug them hard enough. She is your teacher, you confidant, your warden, and your protector. When it comes down to it, I know that I would not be the person I am today without her – and yes, I think that is a good thing. :)

Happy Birthday mama! I love you! Thank you for being you so I could be me.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY JAMIE!!!

Today is my best friend’s birthday.  She is my best friend in the whole wide world.  I couldn’t imagine a day without her.

Jamie, I hope you have a WONDERFUL day.  You totally deserve it.  I pray that God blesses you immensely and that you have many more birthdays to come.  I love you!

More Birthdays…November is Busy

Today is Michael Batts’ birthday.  He is one of my best friends in the whole wide world.  Michael, I hope you have a wonderful peaceful day – even though you have to work. :( You have a great, loving heart and you totally deserve a super day.

Today is also my brother-in-law’s birthday.  His name is Michael too!  Happy birthday Michael.

AND last, but not least, a happy birthday goes out to my good friend, Asheley Tess.  I hope you have a CRAZY, GREAT day full of fun and laughter.

Happy Birthday!

I just wanted to take a moment to wish my daughter-in-law a very happy birthday.  I won’t get to see her very much today because of the performance tonight, but I want her to know that I love her very much and that I hope she has a wonderful, peaceful day. :)

My How Time Flies

It seems like yesterday that I was having Brian.  I can remember ever vivid detail and he is 23 years old.  What’s just as crazy is the fact that Kailey is already a week old.  It’s crazy!  She was born a week ago today.

The years have flown by and now I see Miranda as a 13 year old and Nicholas is getting ready to turn 16.  That is just mind-boggling.   Come December, I will turn 40.  Now that is really the one that gets me.  I don’t feel 40.  How is 40 supposed to feel anyway?  Some days I feel much older.  I guess when you’re young you think 40 is old, but the older you get, the more you realize that 40 isn’t old.   When I think about it I guess age is irrelevant.  It is all in how you look at life – how you embrace it.

I am so happy that I will be “young” enough to enjoy seeing my grandchildren grow up.

Happy 1 week Birthday Kailey!  I love you and I miss you.

Grandmama Robin :)

HAPPY BIRTHDAY JOHN!!

Today is my sweetie’s birthday.  He plans to do nothing today but hang out and cook on the grill and he totally deserves it.

John, I love you and I thank God that He gave you to me.  I hope you have a great, peaceful, restful, and blessed day.

Today is also my brother’s birthday.  Happy birthday Michael!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY!

Happy Birthday to my son Brian!!  Today is his 23rd birthday!  I love you Brian!!  Hope you had a GREAT day!!!
