Long Time No See

No…I haven’t dropped off the face of the earth! I have been SO busy and facebook has been an easy way out for communication!  I’m trying to get back into the blogging, so every now and then you will see my random thoughts, things going on with the family and pictures.

Brian is 25 now and Kailey is getting ready to be 2 YEARS OLD! Nicholas has just started his SENIOR YEAR at school. Miranda is beginning her sophomore year, she’s in color guard with the marching band, she got a solid cedar, electric/acoustic fender for her birthday last year and has been busy playing and writing, and she just finished driver’s ed.  I just started my second year of teaching 7th grade language arts and social studies and I love my job! John is working so very hard – as usual. He is the glue that holds us all together.

And thank you to the few who come everyday even though I haven’t been around. You are awesome! See ya around!

Baby Shower

Saturday, we had the baby shower for Brian and Heather.  We were a little concerned about the weather, but by the time 1:00 came around, it was a georgeous day.  Here are a few pics from the day and I am making a temporary page to put all the others for you guys to see.  It may take a couple of days to get them all up there, so please be patient and check back over the next few days.

They were truly blessed by the outpouring of love from family and friends.

Homebound Almost…

Hey everyone…. The doctor just came out and shes doing good, there’s nothing in her heart and hopefully she will hopefully be home this afternoon. He said that there were no blockages in her heart and that everything heart related looked good. He suggested that she see her regular Dr. to see if it was something digestive related.

Stress Test

I had a pretty good night.  I can sleep anywhere.  Mama said I snored for an hour.

They are getting reading to take me down for my stress test.  They say it will take about 4 hours – good grief!!  I’d say that stress test is a good name for it.  Pray that I can stay calm while I am down there.

Cash Cab

Cash Cab is a game show on the Discovery Channel.  It’s a game show right in a cab in New York CIty.  People get in, and while they ride to their destination, the driver asks them general knowledge questions.  For each question they get right, they win money.  As they go, the questions get harder and the money value for each question rises.  If they get an answer wrong, they get a strike; three strikes and you’re out.  If you are having problems with a question, you can have a shout out where you can call someone on your cell and get help, or you can roll down the window of the cab and ask for help.  If you reach your destination and haven’t struck out, you can choose to watch a video question to double your money or lose it all.  It is a great show!!  Some of those questions are really hard.  I don’t know how people know some of the answers.

This morning, we were surfing the television for something to have on.  We don’t always watch what’s on, but it’s too quiet here in the hospital not to have it on.  So we were watching Cash Cab and then we heard it.  I was so shocked – I really don’t know why – but I was.  One of the questions was: “Name one of the four Gospels of the New Testament.”  I said, “OOOOOOOO, Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John!”  They didn’t know it.  They did a shout out.  They asked this guy who said, “ummmm, John.  That’s right, John.”  And he walked away.  They didn’t know whether to trust him or not.  They did, and they won the money, but wow.

I am not naive.  I know that there are many people around the world who do not know God or Jesus Christ and who do not know about His Word, but it was just so saddening to actually see it; ya know?  All we could do was just look at each other in dismay…wow.  So sad…
